What is SaleSwift?
What’s the difference between Resty and Retaily?
Resty is built for restaurants, cafés and bars: table service, kitchen tickets and cash-ups. Retaily is built for shops: fast barcode checkout, loyalty and multi-store stock. Both share the same offline-first foundation.
Do you have a POS for cannabis stores?
Yes: CannyPos, for licensed cannabis retailers including dispensaries and members’ clubs. It has age and ID checks, per-customer daily gram limits, integrated card payments and live stock across branches. See the cannabis page.
Does the POS work without internet or Wi-Fi?
Yes. Offline is the default, not a fallback mode. Every sale is written to the device immediately and syncs automatically when the connection returns, so you keep trading through dead Wi-Fi, a fibre or ISP outage, or no signal at all.
Will it keep working during load-shedding or a power cut?
Yes. As long as the device is charged, the POS keeps selling through load-shedding, a municipal power cut, a generator switch-over or a network drop. Phones, tablets and laptops hold their own battery, so a dead substation never stops a sale.
What happens to my sales if the connection drops mid-sale?
Nothing is lost. Transactions are saved on the device in a local queue and reconciled automatically the moment you’re back online: no duplicate charges, no re-keying and no gap in your reporting. See how it works.
How much does a POS system cost in South Africa?
POS pricing in South Africa varies widely, and many providers also take a percentage of every transaction. Resty and Retaily are R1,000 per till per month for one or two tills, with every feature included; three or more tills get one quoted price for the whole business. No per-feature upsells, no contracts and no cut of your sales. CannyPos is quoted per store. Work out your price.
Are there contracts or transaction fees?
No contracts on any of our products; every subscription is monthly. Resty and Retaily have no transaction fees either: you pay your monthly price and can cancel any time.
Can I add more tills later?
Yes. One or two tills are R1,000 each per month. When you grow to three or more tills, or open another shop, we’ll quote one monthly price for the whole business.
Do I need special hardware?
Not for Resty or Retaily. They run on the phones, tablets, laptops and PCs you already own, across iOS, Android, Windows and Mac. There’s no proprietary terminal to buy or lease, so you’re never locked into one vendor’s hardware.
How long does setup take?
Resty and Retaily take about 15 minutes: load your menu or product catalogue, hand out the devices and start selling the same day. There’s nothing to install on special hardware and no on-site engineer required. CannyPos onboarding is done with you and included in the subscription.
Is SaleSwift a card machine?
No. SaleSwift makes POS software, not card machines. Resty and Retaily work alongside the card machine or payment provider you already use, and CannyPos integrates with a card machine for tap payments.
